Chin prosthesis
Chin prosthesis surgery is one of the facial cosmetic surgeries and one of the important factors in the beauty of a person's face is the fit between the facial components.
Proportion between different parts of the face leads to an increase in the attractiveness of the face and the beauty of each of these parts affects the other, for example, the shape of the nose and chin and their beauty has a significant effect on each other, if the chin is receding, it causes to make the nose look bigger and vice versa; If the nose is big, it makes the chin look small and backward.
Chin enlargement surgery through prosthetics creates balance and harmony between facial parts. A thin chin makes the neck look chubbier and the person's nose looks bigger than usual.
Usually, in chin prosthesis surgery, rhinoplasty (nose surgery) is also performed at the same time. Also, to make chin surgery more effective, lip prosthesis and cheek prosthesis are also used for coordination between other parts of the face.
Suitable candidate for chin prosthesis
- Suitable for people whose chin is backward.
- People who have a pointed or square chin.
- People whose nose is prominent.
- Those who have a fleshy neck or belly.
- Usually, people who have lost part of their face through cancer, trauma, or birth defects.
In general, chin prosthesis can have a personal effect on the state of the jaw and cause changes in the appearance of each person, especially people with small chins, because by making the chin bigger, the face becomes more harmonious and attractive. The face becomes individual. To have reasonable expectations, it is better to have a consultation with Dr. Amir Daryani, your plastic surgery specialist.
Types of prostheses
A simple way to lift or increase the chin is to use a prosthesis, which is very effective and useful for balancing facial features. Among the existing methods, the use of prosthesis to strengthen and bring forward the chin is the most appropriate method to enlarge the chin. The type of prostheses and their shape, size and dimensions are different and the surgeon chooses the shape and type of prosthesis according to the patient’s condition. In general, prostheses are made of a special material that looks like compressed plastic. Their gender is such that they do not harm the body. These prostheses are permanent, do not absorb and do not break with impact. The shape of some of them is in a way that only brings the chin forward. Some others are anatomical, that is, they follow the natural anatomy of the chin and not only bring the chin forward, but also cover the natural curve of the chin.
The cost of chin prosthesis
The cost of chin prosthesis is calculated depending on the drugs needed in the surgery, the surgery, the doctor’s fee and the cost of the operating room.
