Fat Injection
Fat injection (Moisture Injections) is the operation of fat grafting and is considered one of the safest methods for skin rejuvenation. One of the causes of skin aging is the reduction of the volume of the face and other body tissues. This issue causes wrinkles in different parts of the body.
They use gel or fat injection to make the lost body tissues more voluminous. Fat injection is a method in which fat is transferred from areas that have accumulated fat (lower abdomen, sides, thighs, and inner knee) and it is transferred to other parts of the body (skin folds, face, hands, and chest). which have a low tissue volume, are injected. After some time, the connective tissues and blood vessels around it will take over and the injected fat will become a part of the body.
In addition to filling, it increases the quality and consistency of the skin of that part of the body. It is better if the person's body has excess fat to be able to use this method. If this procedure is performed under the supervision of a plastic surgery specialist, it will not cause any complications or risks.
You can see the applications of fat injection technique below:
- Filling thin and sunken areas of the face such as cheeks and under the eyes
- Highlighting lips, cheeks and chin
- Hip highlighting
- Breast enlargement and breast reconstruction
- Rejuvenation of hands and reduction of appearance of blood vessels under the skin
- Filling scars or sunken scars and burns
The advantage of using fat injection
As you know, in this injection, fat grafting is done by the person himself, so the possibility of sensitivity and allergy to foreign substances that are present in the prosthesis and gel injection is ruled out in fat injection, and it will last in the body for a long time. Another advantage of fat injection is that it has a more natural appearance than other methods due to the use of natural body cells. As a result, fat injection is considered a safe method for skin rejuvenation.
Fat injection steps
This operation requires more time than other injection methods and is performed on an outpatient basis by a specialist doctor and does not require anesthesia. This method has more complicated steps than other dermal filler injections.
First step: harvesting fat
At this stage, the donor organ is first disinfected and local anesthesia is performed in a completely sterilized environment. After anesthesia, the patient is fully awake and does not feel pain. Using special cannulas and syringes (the same cannulas used in liposuction), fat is removed and the desired fat is removed from the body.
Second step: preparation of fat cells (refinement)
Now it’s time to prepare the harvested fat. The extracted fats are spun in a centrifuge to separate the blood and other fluids from the fat, and a purer fat is obtained for the transplant procedure.
Third step: re-injection of fat cells (transfer)
In this step, the purified fat cells are injected in the desired area such as the cheek, under the eyes, and lips by a syringe.
