mastopexy
Mastopexy or breast lift is a cosmetic surgery to raise and shape drooping breasts. By lifting the breast and tightening the tissues around it, the plastic surgeon changes the shape and rejuvenates the breasts. Women who have breasts lower than the chest line, women with aging skin and breast tissue, women who have heavy and large breasts that cause drooping and sagging over time, are usually good candidates for a breast lift. which has a significant effect on a person's self-confidence. Mastopexy is usually used for large breasts because in some cases it reduces the size of the breasts.
Among the things that cause the skin to lose its firmness along with flexibility:
- Hereditary and genetic factors
- aging
- weight loss
- Pregnancy, especially multiple pregnancies
- breastfeeding
- Hormonal changes
The purpose of mastopexy is not to enlarge the breast, but to raise the breast and its tip, make the breast rounder and reduce the size of the areola (the halo around the nipple) that grows over time. If your breasts are small or their volume has decreased after childbirth and during breastfeeding, breast augmentation (breast prosthesis) along with mastopexy (which is called prostopexy surgery) can simultaneously increase firmness and size. increase them. Plastic surgeons suggest different types of mastopexy to perform the operation. which we will discuss further.
